i concur. i was proud of our defense that last quarter. they weren't out there blowing my mind or anything but they did what they were supposed to do; they were a functional defense.

They gave up like 450 yards and 31 points to a mediocre BC team!! Rettig threw for more than his season average against the defense.
Defense gets a D or D+ at best!

agree! D is best they can get BUT they did do some good things.. D/L had their best game so far.. our D/b`s are just plain horrible!!

They played well on 3rd down and came up with a couple good tackles for loss

The defense played well and it was that side of the ball that iced the game for Clemson. The offense doesn't deserve a A, they made to many mistakes.
C+ defense B+ offense ST B
The defense made some real progress. You guys can't expect everything to just be fixed in one game. Clemson's defense in the second half is about the best you can hope for this year. They hit the quarterback, didn't give up easy runs, and created some turnovers. If they can get to that or a regular basis, Clemson will win out.

Why is it that if you hit the pylon with the ball it is considered "breaking the plane of the goal line" thus a score but hitting the pylon with any part of the body rules the player OB? Is the pylon in the field of play or out? I couldn

Sorry. I meant to say.I couldn't tell last night. At any rate we did get the TD but a shame Hopkins did not get credit for another incredible catch. Hate getting hosed like.that though.

the guy has two td's negated yesterday and lost I don't know how many yards. Thankfully he STILL broke the school record. Guy keeps getting better and better.

I give a C because of the halftime adjustments that basically took away the run and made BC one dimensional sorta like FSU did to us last weekend. Rettig did throw for.a bunch.but that's about all he could do and the D got the stops when they had to. First time this season that's happened. If you don't feel better about last night's D performance you ain't payin' attention. There's more to it than numbers

I have to disagree with giving the offense an A. While Boyd and Hopkins were awesome none of the other receivers really stepped up in Watkins absence. Yes Ellington had 130 yards but half of that came in the last 3 minutes when the game was in hand. The run blocking was not very good for the majority of the game, and that was clear on the 4th and inches that we got zero push on.
