he wanted more playing time and he would have transferred immediately to another school not keep his current schedule and also enroll in summer school.

It's a shame to see him leave if this turns out to be true. But like others have said, his playing time was likely to be minimal with the depth we have a WR. It's a shame considering how happy he looked in all of the videos from last season. If he does leave I wish him the best and I hope he excels at whatever he does and where ever he goes.

It might be too late but i think he would of been a great DB in college and maybe even his best shot at the NFL. I remember watching some of his highschool film when we were recruiting him and always thought he would have excelled at either cornerback or safety. Would of liked to see him move there during the offseason but he may not want to play DB.

It's a shame...let's consider this is a guy who's caught 71 balls for just short of 800 yards and 6 TD's at Clemson. He's caught 23, 27, and 21 balls over the last three years, and had his share of big plays. Yes, he finally got beat out by a better player in Hunter Renfrow and had guys like Ray Ray McCloud, Trevion Thompson, and probably Cornell Powell coming even for his #2 job...but this was still a former 4-star who had a good deal of talent even if he did frustrate on occasion with his route-running and occasional odd drop.
Kind of shows the state of the Clemson depth chart right now, more than it says Germone Hopper can't play. The guy is going to be a starter if he can graduate and transfer...actually I think he still had a redshirt year left, so he can transfer and sit that year if he has to. Wherever he lands, I can almost promise you he'll start. There will be a LOT of places that have a spot open for Germone Hopper if he decides to transfer out.
