Of all the major sports in college, why does the home basketball team wear white and their colors on the road. All other sports wear their colors at home.

It had to do with difficulty getting laundry service on the road. Road teams wore dark colors because they hid dirt and stains better and they may have to wear them several times before they were washed.

If he graduated in 1966, maybe just give him the answer instead of trying to be snarky. I'm all for a hefty heaping of snark amongst friends. But this wasn't that. He posted a question on the wrong board and the answer could've been found with a little research. Maybe he just wanted to engage with other people on the topic? Maybe we should engage more and not take obvious shots just to be funny. Maybe I should lighten up a bit. ¯\_(?)_/¯

I read somewhere, it actually started with the early days of baseball. Teams would play several away games in a row via trains.
