Stuart Holden official retirement.

A Clemson great is hanging up his cleats. It is a shame injuries derailed his career some.

Great player, wish he had not been injured so often.....

He was starting to really put it together at Bolton. NBC Sports will probably pick him up to commentate.

Yea I see some network grabbing him he looked very comfortable behind the mic after he was injured in the Gold Cup a few years back.

He and Gooch both were really hampered by injury.

I am still absolutely enraged for him. Nigel de Jong shredded his knee with an absolutely dirty, studs-up tackle, and then Manchester United's Johnny Evans went in and did it again when Stu was on his way back...two of the game's most thuggish "erasers" - de Jong made himself famous when he put that kung-fu kick into Alonso in the 2010 World Cup Final in South Africa - took the best soccer player Clemson has ever produced - actually one of the best soccer players America has ever produced - and wiped out his career.

I hate de Jong.

Holden may have forgiven those guys...I have not. Guys like that need to be punted from the game.

Agreed there should be no place for that #### in the game and the penalties arent harsh enough.

Yeah before he went to Clemson he played CS 1.6 and was in the pro scene. he was on very good teams. When he went to Clemson he quit the game to focus on soccer. its on his wikipedia page as well I believe

Crazy. I used to waste so much time playing that game my Fr. year. Thankfully, I realized the error of my ways and stopped nerding out.

Yep he was involved in the gaming scene for a while. You would be shocked to know how many athletes are also nerds when it comes to gaming.

It really is a shame how Jonny Evans ruined his career with an awful challenge.

I still remember watching that live and cringing.

The real issue is that you post of fgf with those coots.

Feb 4, 2016, 10:17 AM

I'm not calling you a coot. I'm just clueless why you would even engage in communication on their board.....

This has what to do with the topic at hand?

The majority of my posts on FGF are making fun of a few of their idiot fans.

I was just wondering what you enjoy about it.

Feb 4, 2016, 10:57 AM

It's the same as throwing bricks at homeless people. Why mess with them while they are always down? I try and stay out of the slums lol. I don't have a problem with it, I was just curious.

Really is sad that my downvote troll/stalker hates me to the point of downvoting a thread about a former Clemson great.
