Wishful thinking !!!!

Why would he do that?

He's making $900,000 per year as AD and that will increase to $1 million in 2019.

He won't resign . Women's basketball schools don't necessarily have the same standards for an AD as say a football school like Clemson or Alabama .

While I agree that's not likely to happen, money would not be the issue. If Tanner wants to hire a top coach as a replacement, he might have to offer one million or more. The Louisville coach presently makes one million annually.

Yes he does...

but he is among the highest paid coaches in college baseball.

Kevin O'Sullivan at $1.25 million is at the top followed by Louisville's Dan McDonnell and TCU's Jim Schlossnagle

Chad Holbrook was only making $400,000 at $CU so I really can't see than paying his replacement more than twice that amount.

The LSU coach makes $1.1 million a year, and surprisingly, the Miss. State coach makes $1 million, according to The State which could be a dubious source.

No chance an AD would leave his position to go back to a team he has already won a championship with. No chance
