Hey P&R liberals....serious question

Oct 16, 2019, 1:23 PM

If “known facts” constitute an impeachable offense, then why doesn’t Pelosi/Schiff hold the impeachment vote now and send the case to the Senate?

Because they're not dumb and they know Senate Republicans would never care about a pesky little thing like corruption.

what do they care about Republicans? Dems hold the House

they could skip an impeachment inquiry and pass Full Articles of Impeachment TODAY if they wanted.

Only takes a simple majority......which they have.

Why the hold up?

"The Facts are known" we are told.

they have a legal obligation to move forward

I still can't understand why this is hard to grasp. The inquiry is to determine if there's even enough to proceed to impeachment. It could die there.

impeachment growing so rapidly with every new daily witness impugning the president, while the White House continues to obstruct justice, it would be politically stupid to force a premature vote until ALL of the impeachable acts and facts are known. One thing we know is that Trump will screw up again. Lots of witnesses left to question and documents to be delivered, with Bill Taylor now scheduled for next week. I would imagine John Bolton will be up soon. Meanwhile, the White House continues to obstruct justice by not turning over documents or allowing witnesses to testify.

I would think, by mid-November, once a lot more of the facts are known and the obstruction reaches new levels, the public support for impeachment will be so great that a vote will be scheduled by the end of the year.

Then, as we move into the new year, it will become more politically feasible for Senate REpublicans to vote for conviction and removal of the first president in US history.

Plus, it seems to be frustrating to the White House and Republican minions to no end, so that is the gravy on top.

For precisely the same reason that the police don't open an investigation on Monday, take it to a grand jury on Tuesday, and a jury on Wednesday.

A child understands how investigations work. Why do you guys act like morons on purpose?

I am guessing that they know it will lead nowhere in the Senate and they are weighing the political ramifications.
