Both Clemson an UGA pulled off of him I believe as both were pursuing and felt good about better prospects. We're only taking 1 DE this cycle and would only oversign another for a higher rated player.

and he has an offer from UGA but it's not a "commitable" offer right now as we are waiting out Brian Burns out of FLA. I bet he goes Carolina. Can't take them all.

Same story with Clemson. He has an offer from Clemson but I think that ship sailed when Xavier Kelly verballed. Tight numbers can't take them all.

Article says Smith could enroll early. Not a NQ...

Lithonia (Ga.) four-star defensive end Jordan Smith will make his announcement tomorrow at 2:00 pm at his school, and as I have documented previously, I like South Carolina’s chances to be the selection. I also checked around on his academic standing and was told he is in much better shape than some would have you believe. Not only does he project to qualify, he is also a candidate to graduate in December and enroll at his school of choice in January. So do not believe any talk that some schools backed off of him for academic reasons.

I just don't think he's an elite prospect for UGA or CU. Kelly was priority, now we're done, of course unless Clayton wants to commit.

I think Kelly is rated higher than Smith anyway

Kelly is borderline 5 star.

Smith is a low 4 star on 247 and 3 star on rivals.

But he was a nice fallback option for us. Wish we could take both.
