All-Time Walk-On” team. Doesn’t matter that they eventually got scholarships. Hunter R. and Cat Man are locks. Who else?

A coot will usually blink when hit in the head with a ball-peen hammer

Got to put Tony Elliotte and Jeff Scott in there...more for what they have contributed since their playing days ended.

Donald Igwebuike & obed ariri. Loved them dudes. Which one was first and which one won the natty? They could both kick the ball a long ways.

Obed was first - walked on for Coach Pell in spring 1977

Donald kicked three 40+ yard f/g's for us in the national championship game.

Any one remember when Obed wore his orange soccer socks?

He went out to kick a field goal (maybe extra point) and he was wearing orange soccer socks pulled up to his knee caps...Danny met him on the side line...next time out on the field he had on his white socks. I would love to have heard that conversation.

I forget, was Tyler Grisham?

No Grisham was on scholarship

QB Moncrief and RB Blount weren't great

but they did start. Bodine and Renfrow the top two position players by far. Several kickers as mentioned. Throw in Bill Spiers and Richard Hendley to that group. Price the OT.

What about Ben Anderson DB in very early 70's

Started for 3 years.

Scott Enzor , played linebacker and special teams. He started the fight against Maryland when Maryland won The ACC championship.
That alone puts him on this list.

The Legend of David Evans

5’8’’ (or less) DB, younger cousin of Leomont Evans, earned a starting role for at least part of the ‘97 season.

Started against FSU and covered Peter Warrick. Warrick broke a few plays and FSU won 35-28, but I recall Evans looking really good out there for the most part.

Trevor Price was a transfer from Michigan and played 1 year

at Clemson. You're thinking of Phillip Price, an
OT from Dillon, SC.

Mitch Belton, DB/ST. Went from being just another knucklehead freshman in Johnstone to recovering a fumble (for a TD?) against the coots.

Ben Anderson, safety. Started all 33 varsity games. Academic

All ACC 3 years. Intercepted 2 passes against coots in 1971. Was most responsible for the way we currently run down the hill.
