Being a witness is not exactly the same as "being involved in a sexual assault situation".
He stopped the assault according to the article posted on here.
Now the transfer comment is spot on. It's been a while since we have taken one.

He stopped the assault, not started it...wanted to get away from a criminal and coaches wouldn't help him out.

We don't take transfers normally but a transfer who will be a freshmen that we went after originally who's trying to get away from a bad situation is different.

He has upstanding character if he did indeed stop the assault. Take him as a walk on and maybe give him a scholly if he can fit in.

I applaud the kid if he's leaving because of the atmosphere but he should have done his homework. This stuff lives at Florida.

My question is why is Jones still part of the team and Steele's roommate? He should be in jail or have been sent packing back home wherever that is. If Jones is eventually cleared, then see what happens. There's no place for sexual assault anywhere much less a collegiate sports program.
Same with Jamis Winston. He should have been let go by FSU and wasn't. And later, his problem arose in Tampa Bay where again he was just suspended a few games. When there are significant consequences (like losing your scholarship, going to jail, being fired, and etc.) for actions, then the individual hopefully learns something and then others see they can't get away with it.

Extending this kid a scholarship would be a great move by Dabo and Clemson. This would be huge both on and off the field. Steele is Clemson caliber, as a player and a person. If there were ever an exception on the no transfer rule, this is it.
Steele made a poor choice by going to Florida. Steele didn't compound that loor choice by making another one by not stepping up. He took a stand, just like a Ckemson man.

I absolutely hope that we offer this guy. He is a five star player, and had the guts to stand up against a sleazy situation at UF. Our type of player!
