Paul Finebaum Show as I was motoring between medical appointments this afternoon. Corbin was gracious in victory, quite complimentary of Clemson (even said the 2nd game was not indicative of the Tigers) and a class act all the way around. He criticized the MLB draft being held during the college championship series..........Vanderbilt sure got a good one when Corbin left Clemson.

how does Florida, fla st, big 12, cal state and yes even vandy get all these kids on campus?
Even the coots. Or is it development ? Are the other coaches just better at recruiting talent that they know want to play college ball ?

I’ve wondered the same thing man. Obviously with Vandy it’s a little different as they can offer kids bigger scholarships and/or offer more guys since they are technically a private institution. But on the other big programs I wonder too. My only guess is they sign bigger classes with top notch talent?? So when we have 2-3 nationally rated guys sign a year and the rest are guys from this area, those other teams may sign 6-8 nationally rated guy instead, so when their top guy(s) go to draft instead of school they have more guys to fall back on than we do. But who knows that’s just my view

Ugh I'm sure he did say nice things about us. He should love us! After all he and his program spanked us 19-6 setting or tying playoff records in our own backyard.
Next season will be a rebuilding season it appears to me for us anyway and we might struggle to win 35 games. We are going to find out what kind of recruiter Monte is now. Oh and please don't say he's a great recruiter we just had our best signees get drafted because many good programs face that challenge.
I have faith in Monte and even though he decided to take a player who hadn't played in over a month and put him in the game for some offense. What I do fault him for is putting Meredith in the lead off spot. That one is a real puzzler but truth be told we could do much worse for a head coach!! Go Monte and our Tigers!!

Corbin has always been a class act as well as one of the very best coaches in college baseball.
