Here's a tip. You'll never enjoy the SC coast quite the way you used to after going to Destin.

Fat Clemenzas is by far best pizza and Italian food. Lots of good seafood. Don’t miss McGuires Irish Pub. Great beer and food. Cheers

Check out Grayton beach state park. Try The donut hole for breakfast and Louisiana lagniappe for supper! The wings and beer are good at buffalo Jacks...You're welcome!

That dang donut hole was awesome. We stayed at High Pointe in Seacrest for about 5 years straight. Hit it every time

If you're going to Panama City check out Angelo's Steak house best you'll ever have.

I live in Destin and the spots you have been told are all tourist spots. For a good dinner go to the Vue or Cafe 30A. Wine World has a great happy hour on wine and excellent food. Several restaurants from Destin to Water Color. Looking for a good beach go to Pompano Joes. Great beach and happy hour 3-5 pm. Stay away from the Harbor. Over priced and not good food. If you are here as a couple, go to Henderson Inn for sunset. If you have any questions would love to help you.

Pompano Joes was our favorite. We ate there twice. The one on the beach in Miramar. We were there in June. As stated before, Destin will ruin you for all other beaches.

For 20 or more years now. If you like grilled fish and or raw oysters it is amazing. On one of the prettiest beaches too. I know it sounds odd but I agree with those saying McGuire’s. They have what is probably the best steak in that area. I lived there quite awhile and while I like Ruth’s Chris I think McGuire’s steaks are actually better. If you like tacos and burritos I’d recommend trying Tijuana flats in fort Walton beach. It is a chain but became a family favorite.

To say nothing about the flesh eating bacteria in the Gulf water at Destin. A woman from TENN contacted the infection 2/3 months ago.
The Coach and Four is a great local steakhouse in one of the small towns around Elgin AFB. The town may be Shalimar.

Harbor Docks probably the least touristy place to eat on the harbor.
Henderson Inn the most romantic place on the beach.
They just built a new Stewbys by the base of Brooks Bridge, fantastic local seafood if you want a good grouper sandwich.
Flow from the Mississippi has the vis down and blue water is out past the Spur so fishing and diving not as good as it could be for the moment
Take time to go down 30A
There are a ton of ‘Bama fans so have fun with them
And if you go to Tijuana Flats, the paw sticker you might see on the way over there is my office.

Also if you have time head east to Panama City Beach for Captain Anderson’s. Fresh off the docks seafood. Top seafood restaurant in Florida but family oriented
