I'm bummed I am going to miss the football season here in the States. Hopefully I'll get to watch most of the games. Anyone here ever stay at Arifjan and have any suggestions on how to watch the games?

If you have internet access there, then get a Slingbox and have someone HERE connect it to their tv access. Then you can watch what they watch if they connect it to control their receiver, or watch different channels if you connect it to their cable jack via splitter. Plenty of stuff on the internet to determine your best setup.
It works like VGA - so not real great, but it works.

Slingbox is excellent, if you can find someone willing to keep it hooked up for you. No monthly fees, just buy the slingbox, and connect to the internet.

Arifjan is a pretty nice place when it comes to overall Middle Eastern bases. It's a big establishment and has a decent entertainment segment to it. I was between there and SPOD back in 04' as a contractor for the Government. Only issues will be time differential. Good luck soldier.
