Head-to-Head and Conference championships need to matter

If Penn St wins the B1G then they need to be ranked above OSU next week.
They will have won the head-to-head and their conference title. I think those two things trump the fact that they have one more loss. They also played one more game. Conference championships are supposed to matter. I guess we will see.

They don't matter, been said for 2 weeks now by committee. They mean squat unless teams have a "razor thin separation."

They do matter. They are there for tie-breaking purposes

when everything else is very similar. The premise that 1 or 2 games should mean more than 12 or 13 is what i find silly.

in the case of PSU/OSU, H2H is the same as Championship Game

there's no difference between the two other than dates played.
It's a meaningless redundancy.
People need to stop grousing about Conference Championship this,
Conference Championship that.
Penn State has beaten no one of note away from home or out of conference.
Penn State's best win other than the fluky win over OSU
was by 7 points AT HOME and over TEMPLE.
lol, PSU is an absolute joke...

Not necessarily. Suppose we lost to Lville but beat Pitt.

Lville would be in Orlando right now at 9-3 and us at home at 11-1. You'd probably rethink your logic in this scenario.

These type of discussions are why the playoff should expand to 6 or 8 teams. There is simply too much to focus on regarding H2H, conf titles, strength of schedule, etc when you have a bunch of 1 or 2 loss teams.
I keep hearing people say OSU is without a doubt one of the best 4 teams. And I can agree to it. However it is not fair for teams playing this weekend that ultimately they could play themselves out of it while teams like OSU and Mich sit at home. That is my biggest flaw in this whole issue.
The conf title should mean something. I know also there are several factors to look at if a conf title should matter in the case a team like Florida would to win the SEC. I think it just a case by case basis. It should not hurt teams like us or Wash that are playing an extra game and that seems to be what it doing. Like a poster said earlier, it would have been almost better for us to lose to UL and run the table.

And, this is exactly why we need an 8 team playoff,

Instead of all the drama. For those that disagree then can we agree that the College Basketball playoff should be the top four teams instead of the current 64 bracket?

H2H is a TIE-breaker

OSU and PSU are not tied. OSU is 11-1, PSU is 10-2.
The reason PSU gets the shot at the conference title is because the conference fails to recognize PSU's loss to Pitt. Though it fully recognizes Michigan's loss to Iowa.
So you just wanna push this error on up the chain?
