That was when Rabble Rousers ruled. Students on side of the court (not behind the end line) in metal bleachers.

Now almost no one under 70 sits on the side of the court.

Anybody else remember when Larry went off for 34 points against Kentucky in an NIT game?

Wise was about 2 years before my time

'77 was my first memories of anything Tiger related but my Uncle has told me all about him, Rome, Colin Abraham, etc...that lineup in '80 of Nance, Wyatt, Campbell, Conrad and Billy Williams was the best i've seen in my days...UCLA ended our run but man could we run the floor and play defense....

i have sketchy memories of watching that '74 team with him, Burleson and Towe playing on that old shiny Tartan surface they had in Raleigh....he was a freak of nature before Jordan, that's for sure....i also remember a freak of nature we had named Murray Jarman who had like a 42 inch vertical in the early '80's....former volleyball player, i think....a lot of folks forget that our front line in '78 to '80 time frame was 6'10" across the board and could run...Billy Williams was fun to watch too...i saw Nance about bring the backboard down in the Carolina Coliseum in '80 with a tomahawk over Zam Frederick who was flailing in the air trying to do something with him....beautiful sight for this Columbia Tiger who detests the Chickens.

Since I am sitting to the left in the photo, up in the rafters, does that make me historic?

Best dunk I ever saw was Larry against USC, when he stole the ball and drove the court for a monster jam. I also rode the elevator up with him and Horace Wyatt at the high rises won time. They couldn't fit in and had to duck down to get in.

Larry went on to play in the NBA All-Star Game. He was on the same team with Magic. Jordan and Bird were on the other team. I remembered going one-on-one with Larry at McDuffie High in Anderson, and thought "What's wrong with this picture?"

Our high school was a vocational school. Larry's choice was auto mechanics.
