Bob McNair grew up in Forest City , NC . Even though he is a coot grad , he is a good guy and very generous .

I'm with Nuk , but McNair is worth as much as Trump , and he will keep his word .

Basically just means they will offer him a big deal next

year before he becomes a FA. Top WRs in the league are making 14-15M a year and if Nuk has another season like last year he will join that group.

If I was underpaid that much this season, it would take a bunch to keep me from going somewhere else when the were FORCED to pay me what I was worth.

He really can't do anything. He could've held out longer

Aug 2, 2016, 2:53 PM

and tried to force their hand, but if they play hardball his options are 1) rejoin the team or 2) sit at home and not get paid. Going to another team this year isn't an option since he's still under contract.

yeah poor wording on my part...what I meant, if they didn't pay me what I was worth THIS season, then they would have trouble keeping me when my contract came up for re-negotiation

Unless he gets seriously hurt, then he will get nothing.

I like the way Nuk is handling this.

Aug 2, 2016, 3:13 PM

He's not backing out on his contract and embarrassing himself and his family and he's not letting his team mates down as do some of the other NFLers.

If the team owner is smart he'll view this as an opportunity instead of a problem to solve. I would lock Nuk into a solid 7 year contract and wouldn't care so much what it cost. If Nuk executes his rookie contract bidders will be licking his cleats to get his services.

Not in the same time frame as their last 5 1st round picks.

Aug 2, 2016, 3:27 PM

They offered their last five first round picks new contracts prior to year 4 of their rookie contracts.

Nuk thought he'd done enough to be treated the same way. They thought otherwise.

Classic case of them taking advantage of his good nature

Aug 2, 2016, 9:47 PM

He doesn't create a fuss. This was a good move by him to make sure they know he's not happy about that. But isn't their owner a gamecock? Figures

McNair is a Usc man so I am sure it is tough on him to give money to a tiger.

Aug 2, 2016, 4:37 PM
