He said he's not sure how he went undrafted...Maybe because they, along with 31 other teams didn't wanna take a chance.

Sounds to me like Rivera is implying that if he had any say in the matter he would have drafted him.

I am team is not in a major need for a position there not just gonna draft a guy. Certain guy you do, but Ben does have the size for a GM to forget the plan to just pick a guy. With that being said, they're about to find out Who Ben is. He is a legit football player. He makes up for the size by being smart how he plays. I sure am happy for him.was Hoping the Steelers went for him, but I'm cool with the Panthers. Gonna be fun to watch.

Better deal for Ben

Ben will make more money as an UDFA, should he make the team, than if he were drafted in the 4th-7th rounds. I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

Why did Ben have to sign a free agent contract? Making him a draft choice shows more commitment. I still don't trust the Panthers management until I see Tigers being drafted in future years. There is no excuses if they don't.

The Panthers have no reason to spend a draft pick on a LB

It's probably the strongest position group on the entire team (assuming Kuechly can stay healthy after the concussion issues).

If twitter is any indication of Ben's success then he will be just fine. An UDFA has 7627 likes and 2760 something retweets.

They didn't draft him because they didn't NEED a LB

did any of you read the #### article? Why waste a pick for a player you don't need. Pick him up as a UDFA and there is zero risk to the pick.

Using a draft pick to get a player is like us making a written offer in recruiting. There have been Tigers on the Panthers but not many. They are willing to draft UNC players and chicken players but not us. Atlanta has three Tigers on their team. The Panthers don't want us as fans.

But they weren't excited enough to draft him. That shows that they wasn't to excited, and they won't be to sorry about if they have to cut him either. I hope that Ben will have a much bigger chip on his shoulder than the Panthers excitement was!!!
