I had heard from someone that works with the company that holds the financing of automobiles that his family owns that an NFL scout had called this company and asked them not to repo the auto (his family was/is behind on payments) because he was going to the NFL at the end of this season and the car and payments would be covered at that time.
I do not know any other details, but the person that told me this, I have known for over 12 years and she is a very upstanding God fearing woman, whom I have never known or heard of telling a lie.

It may not have been a scout. She said someone from the NFL (I am the one who plugged in scout, instead of just saying 'someone from the NFL'), my apologies.
While it may not be 100% accurate, I can say (as I was told) that someone in his family was/is about to have a car repossed and someone, saying they were from the NFL, did call to try and get a postpone on the repo.
I am not trying to get anything stirred up, I just thought it was interesting, considering his unfortunte injury this weekend.

5. He blew his leg and knee up in the worse thing I've seen since Napoleon McCallum. He may walk again, but he darned well isn't running and cutting through a gap in the line, ever again.
