Caused by UT I personally get great pleasure from seeing these young men from the “Volunteer” state become Clemson Tigers. Life is good,

The interesting thing is neither of those guys were anywhere close to being big time players. Compare them with the guys we are getting now from that area and you can easily see how our program is at the top.

I was at a party in Clemson the night after the ABC story

during the halftime of the Pitt-Penn State 1981 game. Buck Brezeale had a condo next door to the party, as he was in town for the "IPTAY Basketball Tournament" (four team tourney every late November). My friend invited him over, and he came over and told the story of how he knew both players families way before those two became potential college athletes. He was really hurt that they used that interview with ABC's Jim Lampley to get out of their commitment to Clemson so they could go to Tennessee. To my knowledge they never enrolled at Tennessee. In fact, I don't think they went on to play anywhere.

Amazing that old doofus Lampley never broke the UNCheat

He must have been one of the "regular" students that did not get an education at UNCheat.

I feel badly for the young Tiger fans who never got to know Mr. Lampley. I’ve never been a person to hate but I sure was not a Lampley fan! I guess it’s a good thing that there was no internet during those terrible times.
