Have schools started designing athlete majors yet?

Oct 18, 2017, 5:11 PM

Since the NCAA said it was OK, have the schools started coming up with 'athlete majors' that hand out 4.0s for 2nd-grade level work yet? I can't wait until this is such a problem that it ends the NCAA!

You mean like PRTM, or HRTM?

“Party Right Through May”. When I was on campus I had a semester that I needed one credit for financial aid reasons. I took a PRTM course. It was pass/fail and all we had to do was referee intramural soccer for 20 hours in the semester. I failed to do 20 hours.

“We’ve had a lot of rain, so we are extending that to umpiring intramural softball”. I didn’t even attempt to do that.

There were only a small handful of times you actually had to attend the classroom but I’d you had one absence it was an automatic failure. I missed one class.

Guess what I made in this pass/fail course...
a C. This is only on example of what some of our students, be them athletes or not, are doing in one PRTM course. I’m not saying that’s indicstive of the entire major, but 1/1 experience didn’t speak to academic excellence lol.

How did you make a C in a pass/fail course? Your only possible grades are Pass, or Fail.

I was under the impression that was what a sociology major was.***

There's something in these hills.

actually the exact opposite of what the NCAA said

easy majors are allowed, as long as they aren't only for athletes

They basically OK'ed it when they let UNCheat off the hook...

as long as a very small handful of non-athletes also get to take advantage of the easy classes/majors

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I'd like to see a major in designing athletic wear. Oregon (the fighting Hi-Liters?) and several other schools could use some serious help in this area.
