Army might be trying to join the SEC

Feb 4, 2015, 4:36 PM

http://sports.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/commitments/2015/army-97

59 commitments, which puts SC's 30 (which is tied for 3rd in the country) to shame.

Don't make fun of Army.

When I was there, we lost to Alabama by one point in the Sun Bowl, and beat Tennessee at Neyland Stadium.

Army used to be really good!

Poor kids playing there now need all the help they can get.

Still subject to all NCAA requirements on recruiting and scholarship limits, etc.

I think the only limit they have to observe is total players

on the team at one time.

And I can't say for sure that applies to them.

The 85/25 limit applies to players receiving benefits that are not available to the entire student body. Those limits are irrelevant to the service academies. The NCAA does limit the number of players that can be part of the team with or without benefits. I think that number is around 115. That is probably the only limit they have to observe.
