Guess who I dislike more than Spurrier?
Feb 13, 2014, 12:15 AM

I know many of you are tired of the gamecock discussion points. And I have also noticed that the webmasters seem to spend lots of time reading my posts and evaluating the appropriate board for them to reside and moving my stuff around. But certainly talking about Spurrier is allowed on the Clemson football board. I just checked the snow in Clemson on a webcam and saw the amphitheater. And my hatred returned for that one person who I despise beyond all others. So much so, that I would have to admit that in comparison, Steve Spurrier is a great American and that I should apologize for ever saying an unkind word. Because there is nobody in the United States that is a lower form of human being than that one person who I last saw at the amphitheater at Clemson University. I let that person know when I saw them that I was not impressed with their words or their deeds or their thoughts or their existence. That person who should have long ago been put in prison for treason is Jane Fonda.

Jane Fonda

She has on multiple occasions apologized for her actions. She also called her infamous photo in Vietnam an "unforgivable mistake". She has taken time to reach out to Vietnam vets to apologize to them.
Any person who claims to be a Christian should forgive her. Any who doesn't isn't a Christian by Jesus' definition.
Most right-wing people are extremely ignorant of her actions since that photo.

not refer to you as ignorant --- Only misinformed.
On a different note --- In comparison to your love and forgiveness for Jane, at what point did you begin loving and forgiving the 9/11 terrorists? Did you do this as you watched the second twin tower collapsing to the ground? Are Christians required to forgive and love everyone equally? If so, why is there a pecking order of how church members are treated based on which sin has been committed? Suggest you allow me to dislike who I please and I will allow you to do the same. If you don't mind, I will honor and love the soldiers killed in Viet Nam until the day I die. But Jane Fonda can rot in hell.

Are you certain about the uneducated part? I'm not saying that there is a causal relationship, but there is certainly a correlation between education and liberal views. More educated people are typically more liberal.
This example is certainly on the far end of each's spectrum, but do you remember the clash between the Klan and Socialist parties in Durham. The Klan guys were typically dropouts, or high school grads at best, while the socialists they shot typically held advanced degrees.
That example also shows that the far ends of either side of the spectrum aren't good. The right spot is somewhere in the middle. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a moderate Republican. I worked for George H.W., but have no use for W. I disageed with some of Reagan's policies, but thought that his effectiveness as a communicator and a leader outweighed our philosophical differences. I felt similarly about Bill Clinton, but his talent was in his intelligence and administrative ability.

She dislikes the free market economy we have in this country. She wants us to all be taken care of by the federal government because we are all too stupid or greedy to take care of ourselves. Meanwhile she will live in wealth, have plenty of money, sell us millions of dollars in merchandise (remember all of the workout videos) and look down upon us, all while dictating her ideology to us. What a two faced hypocrite ! Al Gore is another one !

I don't think I have ever heard her apologize for what she said about the American Soldiers in Vietnam. She has said she regretted that photo and that she regretted "some of her actions" but she has always said she was glad she went. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Most of what she has said sounds more like attempted justification and damage control than an apology.

No one in the Christian community has forgiven Judas for being a traitor to my Lord. And no one in America should forgive Hanoi Jane for being a traitor to the American soldiers. She is no different than the Rosenbergs, she should have been hanged for treason

It was a treasonist act at the time, no matter her later remorse. I, too, wish I could have some "do-overs", but it is hard to unsay what you already said, especially when you said it in front of cameras, and it was broadcast to the world.

Yea, the old "inside info". I think it's time you guys let this go. She'll be dead soon enough. Funny how some of you "fought" for our freedom, but when someone expresses a point of view you don't like.....kill that treacherous #####. One question, what if she was born a "poor, christian, conservative". Would you still hate her, or give her another chance? Think about it for a minute before you answer.

Not sure if you understand the events at the time. By the way, in no way will Jane Fonda's death change my feelings towards her. Starting my senior year in high school attending the funeral of my cousin who died in Viet Nam a few weeks before his hitch was up and seeing that flag draped coffin is beyond a shadow of any doubt the most vivid memory of my life. When I boycotted Jane's visit to the Clemson amphitheater soon thereafter, my religion or party affiliations had nothing to do with it. My cousin's death drove me then and drives me now. The fact that you do not seem to appreciate the difference between expressing a point of view and committing treason is troubling. As a minimum, you may want to refrain from lecturing me or stereotyping who you assume I am or what my motivations are.

nice definition of treason
Feb 13, 2014, 8:05 AM
|
|
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.
Yes, definitely guilty. Aid and comfort, yes. Two witnesses? Well more like millions of witnesses. It is well documented what she said while posing with the communists during war.

Anybody in their right mind would accuse Jane Fonda of making a prudent decision in doing what she did during a trying time in this nations history , but acts of treason ? That is far fetched and I think a little rabble-rouserish . I understand military ties and people have their rights to be outspoken ...but as Americans under the constitution we are also allowed to get away with just about anything that the soldiers and sailors fight to defend.

Killed in wartime . An uncle in Korea and a second cousin in Desert Storm. I am not in any way downplaying the feeling of nationalism and dislike for perceived acts of treason. However , a bad actress in a publicity stunt cavorting around with the enemy didn't jeopardize the U.S.military effort , or give any advantage to the NVA. I guess I just disagree that it was actually treason , but I understand the rights of others who disagree.

I had to read this - thought you meant you were also in Hanoi. The closest I ever got was just south of the DMZ.

WHY would someone dislike your post SO much as to thumbs down it...TWICE?
that's just un-American...
Fonda's a lib-hippie-commie idiot. i've read all about it & the only thing was ever good for was to look at & maybe helping house-wives stay fit, lol

I'm an ex-Naval Aviator and believe me- we took hating her to a new level. It was common at most O-Clubs I stopped at for libations to see her face in the bowl of at least one urinal.
This was all slightly before her apology tour but by then it was ingrained in the culture. She said herself her action were "unforgivable". On that, we agree.

Debunks the entire story of Jane Fonda and her supposed treasonous acts in North Vietnam ...saying that the soldiers she met were never in danger (their own written statements) and that the entire hooplah was a fabrication from overzealous and downright dishonest people who were never in contact with Jane Fonda. If you read the article it sums the whole thing up as basically untrue and specifically as the creation of "grapeviners" who had no involvement at the time. Basically , it was made up and the press quoted people who eithet didn't know what had happened or were liars to begin with. Glad I read that. I didn't want to be "uninformed" or believe the words of others who claim to know themselves...but may have been misinformed themselves. Thanks Snopes !

Clemson with what has transpired since the invention of the internet. I detested Jane Fonda before I quit using my slide-rule when the pocket calculator was invented. So don't confuse me with someone who gets confused by internet fake stories.
