WR Shephard says "there's definitely more opportunity to make plays" on THIS YEAR's CLEMSON Defense

Also said he's been watching film all day everyday. That's all he does.
Our boys better be doing more in their preparation for the opposition. An opposition who really believes they've got this game in the bag, and we, as well as all the teams we beat in the ACC, are overrated.

Well if he can get just two catches,

then I think he will have doubled his plays from last year.

Apparently he wasn't fully healthy last year and he's been tuned into Mack and Kearse's last 3 games***

The only thing that will tell if his preparation pays off is gameday.

I am unsure of his health last year but feel certain that he is a talented receiver. I am not convinced that watching video will prepare him for a fully rested Alexander and Kearse though (as well as our other DBs). Like Mike Tyson said, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Now we wait for gameday.

Sheppard is a smaller receiver and don't like physical play. Alexander will press him the entire game and get in his head again.

Well he isn't wrong. This years D is more susceptible to a big play or even any play than last years D. He gets 5 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.

but if they've been watching a lot of film they know we've been, at time, vulnerable to the crossing routes across the middle. Particularly if the LB's bite on the play action to Perrine or Mixon.
But on the other hand we've been watching there film to and know their vulnerabilities as well.
So in the final analysis we win.

We've picked a few of the over the middle crossing routes off, actually.
Zone blitzing schemes. LB's will bite bc they're on a called run blitz. QB leads the receiver right into a man he doesn't see in his peripheral on D.
Baker was playing in the nickel package in one instance.
Kearse and Mack will be in and out of man coverage. There's been a few time when mack just stepped up and leveled receiver's right after the catch after crossing over into his territory.
I'm sure opposing coaches wish it were that easy vs. our D. Many have tried. Trust me. V expects it all game.

When you walk away from a bowl game with 13 years as a "star" receiver, you'll say just about anything to make yourself look better.

Well he's right. This year's D though very good took a step back.

I expect him to have 7-10 for 100 yards. RB will get 100 too. But we'll have more points on the board which is all that matters.

Reminds me A LOT of the ND game with Fuller and Procise.

Media talk a big game for them. They talk themselves.
Clemson sits quietly as the deadly assassin patiently waiting for the kill.
