But this I object to...

"Dabo Swinney and Jimbo Fisher, two former SEC assistants, brought an SEC mentality to the ACC that upped the ante."

I can't speak for Jimbo but I just can't stand when people say stuff like that about Dabo. The mentality he brought was all him, in my opinion. The only people in the SEC that come close do so because they are trying to imitate Dabo.

When FSU played Aub for the championship a few years back:
Aub leads 21-3 or something, commentary is that the best of the ACC cannot hang with the SEC.

FSU wins, Commentary is that FSU modeled their program after the SEC.

Winners =SEC.......Its scientific fact

Exactly . His mentality is born of his personal life struggles and experiencing hardship as a young man more so than what he learned as an assistant coach at Alabama.

The writer clearly wanted to say that without " SEC experience " Jimbo and Dabo wouldn't be the coaches that they are ...and that is a huge leap in logic .

To attribute Jimbo and Dabo's success to having been SEC assistants isn't remotely logic. Dabo's been away for 17 years...don't recall either ever suggesting they emulate SEC in any way whatsoever.

To top that off, Dabo was an assistance coach to one of the worst programs in Alabama history. Now he had a great foundation as being a championship player, but you cant attribute his coaching experience to being from the SEC.

Good post. Skimmed over and noticed a couple of things. Clemson is best Defense in ACC, the question is: Will they be the best unit in the country? IMO, yes. A lot of Clemson being " on the cover " at first, shows they understand who's Champs. Looks like Fuente at VT with Bud F. are building something up there.
