Good point. However, San Mateo is a county park..so should be open.

Just dont stay at the Gaylord in San Fran like i did in Texas. It was straight Domers. Not sure what that will mean in Cali. Yet as i think about it GREAT trip. Maybe stay at the Gaylord.

Muir Woods is not in San Francisco. It is a National Monument located in Marin County. It's an old growth redwood forest with hiking trails that extend to the Pacific Ocean. There are no homeless people in Muir Woods.

Muir Woods is open during the government shutdown. Parking reservations are required.

It is definitely worth the time to visit and enjoy.
