Good morning everybody. How was your weekend?

Dec 2, 2019, 7:52 AM

Friday night, Sharkgirl worked at the brewery so I did a bunch of nothing once I got home.

Saturday was all about football. Nice easy chicken kicking time, Iron bowl was kinda nuts, Utah didn't poop the bed.

Sunday, a bit of Christmas decorating/ getting stuff ready for a busy week.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Welp, the Tigers won, the Panthers lost but I didn't die.

Dec 2, 2019, 7:53 AM

Thurs – Smoked a turkey. Unbelievably good. Ate too much
Friday – Drove to Chucktown
Sattidy – Board meeting, drove back home
Sunday – Nada

Friday hooked up with some chick. It was cool. She was a 7 minus. Caught a good buzz.

Saturday..Good watching us beat the coots. .

Sunday...sucked. I lost 400 bucks gambling when all I needed was the Eagles to beat the lowly Dolphins straight up.

Long and terrible.

Dec 2, 2019, 8:02 AM

Pretty sure I posted about the first weekend with the septic tank problems.

Anyways. Tuesday, found a truck, bought it. Felt like I got a good deal. Not a lemon yet. But time will tell. I think my father is more excited than I am, but he also doesn't have to pay for it.

Wednesday spent all day smoking butts over the coals. Started feeling bad that night.

Woke up Thanksgiving feeling like somebody ran over me with the truck I bought. Didn't participate in any festivities. Luckily mother of brought over plates that night.

Friday still felt bad but had to buck up and get some errands ran like going to the bank to move money over for the down payment I put on the truck. Had to pull from the house fund. Now I have to go under the house myself to fix the ductwork instead of hiring somebody to do it. Yay.

Saturday woke up to my throat being on fire. Went to the doctor. Strep. Missed all thanksgiving festivities and wedding festivities planned for that day as well.

Started feeling some better yesterday until wife of decided to start putting up Christmas.

Also spent this the entire week dealing with two kids trying to kill each other from morning to dusk.

great.

Left me pretty tired this morning

Dec 2, 2019, 8:05 AM

Wed - I don't recall anything significant other than not working
Thurs - Thanksgiving lunch, had a tranny there and didn't even know it, thanksgiving dinner at mom's
Fri - Arrived at the tree plantation just as it opened, cut down a tree, spent a lot of money, put tree up and decorated
Sat - Fished a tourney on Greenwood, made a donation to local fisherman and Connie Maxwell, babby did not sleep good
Sun - Late to church, played outside with McJr, back to church for Dinner, watched Deshaun vs Patriots (all of it), babby did not sleep good again. Feeling it this morning.

Hope you all had a good and happy Thanksgiving

Dec 2, 2019, 8:05 AM

I had 160ft of Crown Molding delivered on Wednesday, so I'm gonna get rolling on getting that installed this upcoming weekend, to go along with getting the downstairs painted.
Thursday, I watched football, and went to see Bong Joon Ho's Parasite
Friday, I spent the day getting things organized, and I nearly have my garage ready to set up the CNC.
Saturday - Watched South Carolina have its spirit crushed.
Sunday - Recovered from hangover, watched Deshaun go ham on the Patriots.

Replacing all the trim work is a future project at my place.

Dec 2, 2019, 8:16 AM

Clearly I need a sliding compound miter saw before starting this.

What is up now was a major DIY project and not all of the moding matches. Also the caulking has failed in several places. I think I want to go with a natural finish instead of the white this time.

Well, its not like it was laying around. It was more like, crap, we really need to do this to complete the house. Lets rip off the band-aid.

Friday - built what felt like 1million lego pieces with my son. Watched football, watched basketball, drank beer and hit the Pub late that evening.

Saturday - kid time all morning as mom went with MIL to run errands and shop. Game time and I got HAMMERED. It was a marathon of beer, food and football all evening. Went to neighbors house and kids played in their jumphouse as we continued to watch football and eat pizza and drink moscow mules. Sexy time with the wifey.

Sunday - repent at the house of the Lord. Nap, play with kids, nap some more, watch some great NFL games, back to Pub to see an old friend who is on hard times.

Thursday Smoked turkey for ten of us. Also made giblet gravy and field peas. My granddaughter brought dressing and collards. Daughter brought Mac and cheese. SIL brought green beans. Da Bears. Had yeast rolls and chocolate chip cookies for supper.

Friday got up late. Watched westerns. Then watched Hoos become our next victim. Ate leftovers.

Saturday Watched westerns. Watched annual killing of the coots. Made turkey biscuit bake for four of us. Watched Wonder Woman, Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, Star Trek, The Invaders, and then back of my eyelids. Had weird dream where I played Augusta National. Birdied 13 with a chip in seven iron. Then tried to play a 240 yard par3 (no such hole). Lost my ball on tee box. Didn't have any more balls. Was disqualified. Very strange dream.

Sunday watched soccer. Then NFL. Made turkey noodle soup for me and granny. Watched Patriots lose to Watson and oil pumpers.

Monday Watching westerns. Getting ready to go to bank and post office. Spaghetti tonight and Monday Night football.

Tuesday Dancing granddaughter is coming to visit Granny and me.

Sattidy Tigers punch ticket to another National Championship. That is all.

Do again next year.

Dec 2, 2019, 8:49 AM

Wednesday, a couple of long hikes with the pup all through the woods and along the river. Went and hung out at the music store for a couple of hours and played a couple of Fender basses and looked at my options for upgrading my amp to something LOUDER.

Thursday, went to RH Aunt's in Hickory and ate great food. Kept it respectable and left Hickory without being too overly miserable.

Friday, chores and more time with the pup. The Mrs. was in full decorate the house mode so mostly just tried to stay out of her way. Left for Charlotte early evening and hit Sabor for some killer Latin street food, then down the block to the Evening Muse to see BJ Barham solo show. He was fantastic, as always.

Saturday, Watched Clemson dominate the coots, ho-hum....another day at the office. Took the pup over to RH Mom's and let her run in the fence and watched first half of Iron Bowl with Mom. Home to make a pizza and drink some celebratory beers. I Watched more college football on TV than any day this year. I usually have better things to do than watch games that don't concern us, but I went into full channel-flipping college frenzy once I got home from Mom's. Second half of Iron Bowl, and then Nancy's Taint getting whipped were the focus. I NEVER pull for the tarholes on purpose, but I'm glad to see that our one 'loss' this year was to a bowl team, at least.

Sunday, drank coffee and read sports news all morning. Finally got motivated and went to the grocery store. Someone didn't tell the coots they got whipped because there were more of them flaunting their coot wear than any day this season so far, including after Georgia. Got home and did a few more chores, cooked supper, then started wrapping presents since there is now a tree to put them under. Sat down at 14-3 and watched the end of the Houston game.

11/10 weekend, slept in every day, stayed up way past my bedtime every night, had a few good beers every day and avoided any hangovers.

Wednesday, drove up to Boone late-ish to try and let the babby sleep. We only had the baby with us this Thanksgiving, so it was just the three of us. Stopped by our friend-Family's place to say hello and had a couple of Crown Royal/Diet Sundrop concoctions that my friend-brother makes. They grow on you a little. Headed to hotel and crashed.

Thanksgiving day we tried to head downtown to see what we could see but nothing was open. Babby had to much breakfast for mountain roads and vomited all over her self in the car. So we cleaned her up and headed to friend-family's house for Turkey day. Friend-brother had smoked two turkeys so I helped him wrap them up for the finish than when inside and helped cook every thing else while watching football. Dinner was great and everyone had a good time. Met the tight end for App State who has got some NFL potential apparently. Drank sparingly due to mountain road drive.

Friday wife of wanted to shop downtown so after another big breakfast we realized the car would not start. Battery was dead. However, when I opened the hood I realized the coolant reservoir was empty. Friend-brother came to jump start car and we took it to a local shop where they let us mess around with their automotive tools and realized radiator has a small leak and is not holding pressure. So replaced battery and coolant and decided to bring back to dealer here for warranty repairs. Friend-brother's buddy would not accept any payment for battery, assistance or coolant. Drove to friend-family's house where babby vomited again. Cleaned up, hung out, got drunk-ish and watched football. Slept over at their house before getting up and leaving the next morning.

Saturday we drove 421 to 77 to Charlotte rather than the twisties due to baby puke issues. Stopped in Charlotte to watch the first half of the game at Jack's Corner Tap. Then the rest of the way to Columbia to hang out with step-siblings at dad's house. Back to house for drinks and being lazy.

Sunday was first morning with no baby staring at us from a pack and play so first chance for privacy during sexy time. Then up to go get the kids from their dad's, took son of to play practice, had lunch with my dad then home and grocery store. Cooked breakfast for dinner, cleaned up and went to bed early.

Bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter.

Dec 2, 2019, 10:12 AM

Wed - left Roanoke to head down to Aiken, Sakerlina. Traffic was no problem at all. The trip started better than expected.

Thursday - slept in 'til like 0900, which is unheard of in PAW land. Went for a walk with the missus. Hung around until it was time to eat turkey. Ate some good Sakerlina delicacies, including BUTTERBEANS, collards, and cracklin' cornbread. Went over to stepmother's house and ate again.

Friday - got a nice little run in with tdrake, shaking him out for his epic 13.1 performance. Then visited Diddy PAW's grave. Not easy, as you'd expect. First time I'd seen it. Had lunch at Carolina Barbecue. Ate hash, ate hushpuppies, and ate some more. Then against my better judgment, went to Disgusta and did a little Black Friday shopping. Tons of people at the mall, but we got in and out surprisingly easy.

Satdee - ran about 4 miles, watched the game while the ladyfolks went to see the Nutcracker back in Disgusta. Had spaghetti dinner. Early to bed.

Sunday - on the road by 0800, some rain but beat any heavy traffic.

Overall, a very nice trip down to Sakerlina for the holiday weekend. Missed my Dad but it's all part of the grieving process. Ate well. Had good family time. Watched the Tigers crush the coots.

9.5/10.

In-laws-ie

Dec 2, 2019, 10:27 AM

Wed - Play golf with two BILs and the son of one of them, was fun and did not get overtaken by darkness. Took baby over to visit with rest of inlaw family that were beginning to arrive since wife did not feel well.

Thurs - arrive at inlaws around 3 and FIL immediately informs wife that his brother passed away that morning (2nd brother in two days), so she is upset. Hang around with her siblings and their kids, enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal (except for those yankee turnips, yuck), enjoy wine and several beers, stay up late with them carousing and having a good time.

Fri - golf again with inlaws and some friends. Grab a couple quick drinks downtown with some other friends. More inlaw time for supper at SILs house. Back to wife's parents house for more carousing and beers.

Sat - Since this was the first time in several years where wife and all of her siblings were all in town at the same time, they did the photo reenactment thing of a 30+ year old photo that had been in the paper many years ago. It was actually pretty cool and some of you probably saw it on the buddybook. I had been busy doing shid around the house and didn't even watch the first half of the game, kept up with it on cell phone. Over to inlaws house to watch the 2nd half. Proclaim victory at end of third quarter and open a victory beer. Was never really concerned about the game, but wish we would have hung 70 of those fuggers. People begin returning back to their homes so only a few of them were left around Saturday night, so enjoyed a more quiet evening at the inlaws house with the few who were left behind.

Sun - wake up to redhead things. Go watch Christmas parade roll through downtown Aiken, and then head to Mellow Mushroom for food and a couple beers. Much to the surprise of all of you, MauldinT was not there. Home to watch DW4 shred the Pats, enjoyed immensely.

TL,DR - Inlaw sibling overload, golf, surprisingly no karaoke, lots of beer, some redhead things. 8.5/10, with deduction for passing of uncles-in-law, but overall was a very good weekend.
