Good gosh ahmighty...no wonder Bama's offense is rollin'

Oct 23, 2018, 2:34 PM

Here are the defenses they have had to go against...Louisville #93,Arkansas St. #74,Ole Miss #123,TAMU #23,Louisianna LaFayette #114,Arkansas #87,Mizzou #96 and Tennessee #63....

That is an average of #84....So, I am gonna hold back just a little while on crowning them....

They’ve played TAMU and then had 7 bye weeks. It’s not very hard to be prepared for 2 games in a whole season. Their passing game looks impressive, but you can’t be sure until they play better competition. Their defense IS NOT what it has been for the last 10 years, even against a bunch of nobodies. Same goes for their run game. We’ll see, LSU should stress them some. I still doubt that LSU is balanced enough offensively to expose Bama.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think LSU is a fraud. They put up 239 yards against Miss.

Oct 24, 2018, 9:14 AM

St. The only team they had a real good day against was Ole Miss and everybody has a good day against them. If LSU gives Bama a good game, I will feel better about our chances..

not face them first game if they get the 4 seed again.

I just think it's better not to play them after a long break because love him or hate him, Saban comes up with a great plan when he has a month of prep time.

Re: I'm kinda pulling for Bama to win out because I'd rather

Oct 23, 2018, 2:46 PM

Yep. I don't want to give Nick Saban several weeks to get ready. I also hope they make the SEC championship game because last year they also got an extra week of rest.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They basically got a first round bye.***

I’d like to see them play a decent defense in round one but not sure who that would be right now

Great game plan? The man only runs 6 to 8 plays a game. He varies the formations, but runs very few different plays. He lives and dies on simplicity.

^^^^ LOL - THIS. Bama leaving their 1's in the game and running up the scores on weak teams will wreak havoc on stats. Stats are made to make a point, but should be considered worthless in most situations.

Oct 24, 2018, 10:01 AM

Legitimately, FSU's defense is their ONLY strong point. According to S&P+ Rankings:

FSU Offense - 109
FSU Defense - 21

One of the best defenses we have faced all season according to the Football Outsiders.

I wish people would do just a LITTLE research before spewing their BS.

FSU #21
Duke #29
BC #40
SCar #48
UofL #82 (the actual worst of the defenses left...wow, such a fall from being the #1 D for some of a season in 2014)
possibly UVA or VT in the ACC game - UVA #26, VT #67

Alabama - #20 ranked D
LSU #10
Miss St #6
Citadel N/R
Auburn #3
FLA or UGA likely in the SEC-CG...FLA #19, UGA #24

I will agree that is weak competition but they are still going out and preforming. I’m more worried to play them this year than last due to there passing game. Hopefully Clemson secondary will continue to develop and ease my mind over the next few weeks. I do think the secondary has gotten better throughout the year and hopefully it continues.

We will find out if it's chicken or egg. Here's the current defense rankings of remaining Alabama and Clemson opponents NCAA/S&P)

Remaining Alabama schedule:

LSU - 25/10
Miss State - 6/6
Citadel - UR
Auburn - 34/3

Avg - 22/6

Remaining Clemson Schedule

FSU - 54/21
Duke - 41/29
Louisville - 93/82
BC - 66/40
SC - 61/48

Avg - 66/44

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Completely agree.

Oct 24, 2018, 10:05 AM

I was just discussing this the other day with a friend. If Alabama does the same thing against the next 3 FBS opponents that they have all season, then I am willing to give them a whole lot more credit, although still refusing to call them unbeatable...

The final 4 weeks will tell me everything I need to know about Alabama.

Alabama beat TN 58 - 21 (+37) and played 44 players. Clemson beat NSt 41 - 7 (+34) and played 84 players. Even traveling with 72 players AL should and could have played them all like the Tigers at GA Tech and Wake.
