...without any number of pop up ads completely paralyzing my phone, requiring a shutdown of the browser. Surely there are others having same issue? Almost as annoying as opening a post to see nothing but "nm" in the body of the message.

It costs a couple of bucks but it blocks all the pop ups and other adds on websites. Works great.

Sorry, didn't realize payment was a prereq to avoid borderline site unusability. Donated for a lot of years, circumstances change. I browse plenty of informative sites that don't hijack my phone. Just saying.

I donated for a long time. Like 6 years plus. Never got anything. Steak knives never showed up. Never got those movie nights with the MOT, they always talked a big game, circle jerk? Never got nothin. The kicker, tried to donate but couldn’t remember my PayPal account (who uses PayPal) so never did get around to throwing away a few bucks a month. A guess what I’m saying is...deal with a few pop ups or throw down a couple bucks a month...whatever...not worth my time

Don't mind dealing with ads per se, gotta make money off the site traffic somehow, I really do get it. My underlying question was if others were having the same totally-lock-your-phone-down popup behavior from some of the more obnoxious advertisers (one ad locks the phone and sets off the buzzer and there is no way to get past it except to shut down). Finding out that is the case for lots of folks. Questionable strategy to drive paid memberships.

Just deal with it. Crump usually gets around to fixing it in a short while, then it will pop up again in a few weeks.
Maybe more people donating will go to better equipment to fix this happening. I have no way of knowing this for sure so see no reason to sign up for PayPal.

Thanks for the advice. Been dealing with it for a while. But for every schlep like me dealing with it there are certainly other folks turned off enough to avoid visiting the site altogether, and website traffic is what drives ad revenue, which I presume is significant for Tigernet, along with paid subscribers.
