In all honesty, why would a recruit go there? They will always lose at least one regular season game each year. They will lose the SEC championship and perhaps their bowl game.

Why would any school hire a Nick Saban assistant?

They can't beat their mentor, and can't win a championship

I would expect that Nick Saban gets to know his assistants pretty well and dissects their abilities, personality, and thinking when they work for him and he knows their weak spots both as a coach and as a person and he exploits these when they match up. So to your point, hiring a Saban assistant to beat him is just a flawed concept.

Why would anyone want to be coached or led by that a$$hat Kirby Smart? That guy's high tolerance for ignoring "character flaws" in his players and recruits is extreme even by SEC standards.
