I wish we could get a break down of every state like that. Especially South Carolina over the last few years. I know SCar has picked up some 5* talent but most don't seem to notice we still out recruit them in state.

Scar got lucky with two solid 5 stars that were theirs to lose. Lattimore always wanted to be a #### and Clowney form Rock Hill was unlikely to go anywhere else. Similar to DaQuan who was Clemson all along. They have filled the rest of their classes with guys who just want to play in the SEC.

more like they filled the rest of the roster with players...

even fellow SEC teams wouldn't even go near because of academics or legal trouble.

One word ... academics.

The admission office has some affect of recruiting at all schools. Except Chapel Hill

What's amazing is that if we had landed Clowney, we would have not only beaten USC, I think we could have beaten FSU last year and possibly this year.

The stats are misleading. We need higher ranked stars on the O-line. Our D-line is shaping up, but we need more of the big nasties.

With as lazy as Clowney is, how would he of helped us?...

Jan 28, 2014, 12:02 PM

Melvin Ingram and Devin Taylor propped him up his first 2 years, his last year at SCU, Clowney quit on his own team. Not to mention he would never academically qualify at Clemson. Sorry, but there are really only two positions (QB and RB) in college football where one player can shape a teams destiny, and it's not a DE.

I don't think he'd be markedly better

We've had some horses on the DL the last few years.

If we could have had this year's LB corps a few years ago and a 2006-2008 type secondary, we would have been pretty hard to beat, even without Clowney.

STS will not like this.
