Tigers on pace for worst hitting season in almost 40 years

The Clemson baseball team is on a pace to have one of their worst offensive seasons in recent years. With 30 games remaining and the meat of the schedule coming up, the time to start hitting is now. Full Story »

Well, there's the problem.

The batters have their eyes closed.

Just tell them to open their eyes.

Good catch. I was begining to think that we just had a bad team this year.

I don't follow baseball, but I imagine that this is not good***

Same here.

I think most CLEMSON fans are just looking for something
to be positive about.
Football was down for 20 years, basketball hasn't been on
a national scene. And we're just looking for something,
anything to hang our hats on.
Guess theres always golf...hmm.

But we have one of the best recruiters in the nation, right?

You don't understand how college baseball recruiting works #######. Players are recruited 2 to 3 years ahead. The players that are at Clemson now are primarily Riginos' recruits, a few that were recruited by Sully, and only a couple that were recruited by Lecroy. Lecroy's recruits will start showing up next year.

Now you might make a case to fire Lecroy for being a sorry hitting coach, but you can't put the make up of the current team on him. Most of that is attributable to Riginos.

No surprise with all the little guys in the lineup.... Not

Mar 26, 2012, 1:52 PM

sure how a premiere baseball program ends up with so many guys that go 5'6" and a buck sixty....

But those little gritty gutty guys are the ones Jack loves so much.
Bunt, bunt bunt.

I wonder how many times Clemson has attempted to bunt compared with our opponents?

You're one of those guys that would complain if we bunted with runners on 1st & 2nd and no outs in the 9th inning down one and with our #9 hitter at the plate.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's what I have noticed too

Mar 26, 2012, 2:55 PM [ in reply to No surprise with all the little guys in the lineup.... Not ]

We have a lot of players that look and play similarly.

Don't let facts get in your way....

Check the rosters. Clemson has 3 guys under 5'-10", none of whom are 5'-6". The ##### you love have 6 guys under 5'-10".

Jack loves guys who are the same size as him or smaller. The only real hitters we have are all big guys (Wilkerson, Shaffer, Pohl, and Stolz).

DON'T WORRY GUYS EVERYTHING'S FINE***

i want to win and win it all just like any orange blooded clemson fan out there , no one is more competitive than jack , so if there was an easy solution the problem with tiger baseball being on top is no question , however in the real world of college baseball we (clemson) face many difficulties including scholarships and the pro draft. when you competitors that are in other states and can use lottery money or something else to tip the scales ? we lose .... make the draft before signing day and give 25 full scholarships to baseball ................
