NOT! ACC Champ could potentially be relegated to play on New Year's Eve. No ACC team playing on or after New Year's Day, I guess pending what the C-fil-A Bowl does with the new playoff system.

GREENSBORO, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference and the Orange Bowl Committee announced today that the Discover Orange Bowl will annually feature the ACC Champion against an opponent from the Big Ten Conference, Southeastern Conference or University of Notre Dame as part of the 12-year agreement that begins following the 2014 season. In addition, ESPN will serve as the broadcast partner, and the historic bowl game will either be played in an exclusive prime-time window New Year’s Eve or on New Year’s Day, pending the schedule of the new collegiate postseason playoff games.

They are trying to get them all on/around New Year's Day. SEC/Big 12 will play in Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. Rose Bowl with Pac 12/B1G will be on Jan. 1. But ACC Champ may get moved to New Year's Eve. That's just sad.
Some of the other playoff bowl games may be before New Year's but those winners will play a week after.

I'd prefer to play the game on New Years Eve rather than in the middle of the following week which makes travel more difficult.

the "New Year's Day" bowl symbolism has been tarnished

for decades now, since they started playing bowls like Outback, Papa John,s, etc. on NYD or after.
Did you know that SCAR's first bowl win in the Carquest Bowl was on January 2nd? That ship sailed long ago.
Personally I'd rather play ALL the bowls while people had holiday leave instead of January 6th or some ridiculous date like that.
