Ford: Game-Winning touchdown was a "rocket"

Jacoby Ford found it fitting that a play drew up on the sideline in the grass was finished off with a good old-fashioned hardball. Full Story »

He's doing just fine! He looks for the throwing lanes

probably more so than taller QB's. BTW--he's taller than Fran Tarkenton and it didn't seem to be a problem--or for Flutie either.

Look brother...it wasnt a slam....

Oct 27, 2009, 9:45 PM

But the dude is so short he couldnt even see his TD pass get reeled in. He's short....it's not a slam on him. Maybe his momma is short. I dunno. He cant help it. I wouldnt trade him for any other QB right now...but it sux for him to be short...i mean, he's still an inch or two taller than me...but I'm short. So dont pretend that being taller wouldnt help him...cause it would. This world has gotten so PC that ya cant call a dude what he is without offending people.

If he were 4 inches taller he wouldn't be playing for us.

Oct 28, 2009, 8:28 AM

If he's 6'3" tall, he's probalby the number one QB in the nation out of HS and we probably don't get him.

And this is no slam on Clemson or our recruiting abilities, but one recruiting analyst has already said that Kyle Parker would be Matthew Stafford if he were taller.

Instead, he can become the next Drew Brees and we'll all be happy.

He is already better than stafford was at this stage of the game, Kyle would be a winner if he were 5'2"

His height has proven to be of little liability. I do not seem to recall many passes getting tipped, and he sure did not have a tough time carving up Miami's secondary.

5'10", 6'3", who cares, the kid can flat out play.

He has sort of a tough time with the RB screens when a tall defender is coming at him. Overall I certainly agree that he is doing fine in spite of his stature.

My only point was that if he were 4" taller coming out of HS, we probably don't get a chance to sign him because every school in the country would have been on him.

IMHO, we got him because he was under the radar due to his height.

Good for us!

Watch the one UM DB get juked, lose his feet, resulting in a perfect takedown block on his teammate who possibly could have laid hands on Ford......tho' doubtful he could have stopped Ford scoring.

Believe it or not. As a former coach I've had to do it. Teach a team how to score. Teach a team how to win. Sometimes coaches have to help turn the light bulb on. I'm pleased that Dabo recognizes the need to teach more than X's and O's.
