Ford Explorer question

Nov 14, 2017, 12:40 AM

As anyone had any Carbon Monoxide issues with a 2011 - 2016 Ford Explorer? I was looking to trade my Escape in on an Explorer, and just read about some recent complaints.

Other than that, any thoughts (good or bad) towards this vehicle?

Just bought a 2014. Haven't driven it much but no problems.***

I have a 2014 and we bought a carbon monoxide detector and put it in the car for a while but it never went off.

From what i remember i think the issue was the fumes from the tailpipe leaking into the car through the rear hatch. Probably one of those things where conditions had to be just right for it to happen.

Don't know anything about this issue but still drive our 1999 explorer daily. Has been so trouble free, don't want to replace though we know we should. Never needed a single repair beyond oil change, wiper blades, new battery.

I've owned two. Ok to drive around town but not suitable for the woods. I wouldn't have one as a gift.

I own a 2005, it has done well except for the automatic transmission, a Ford issue and weak link. Not sure on the newer engines but mine has 3 timing chains and consensus is it toasts the engine at around 150k miles.
