For the 10,000th time, North Carolina did NOT nearly BEAT us

with a two point conversion. What they NEARLY did was take the lead. We still had 1:14 and two time outs left, which would have been more than enough time to run the two minute drill and get the winning field goal, or possibly even a touchdown. In a way, that would have been better than what actually happened. Then, we would have been seen as having responded to adversity and scoring when we had to, to win. Evidently a defensive stand to PREVENT a score does not garner you the same respect as a last second score to win. We saw exactly the same thing in the win over Notre Dame in 2015. The pundits kept trying to get us to lose that game after the fact.
Also never brought up by the talking richardheads is the fact that the Tar Holes have been in every game they played this year, with the exception of GT. Their losses have been by 6, 3, 1, 2 (in 6 OT's), 3, 7, and 7 (OT). The Tech loss was by 12. And, the loss to App State has looked better and better, since App State is a ranked, or nearly ranked, team. But, none of that fits the narrative, of course.

And for the 10,000th time, there was no guarantee we would have scored again. We came very close to losing that game whether you want to admit it or not.

I strongly dislike the “what if” game. Tigers are 11 - 0 and on their way to bigger goals. Enjoy the ride if you can.

Add the fact the blatant hold in the backfield on unc’s first score, giving the WR enough time to make a double move.
And all the penalties we had. And the flukey/lucky plays unc had. All the stars aligned for them, and they have a championship caliber coach too, ppl forget that.
Still won, and it wouldn’t have mattered if they got the 2pt or not.
