Football is getting sad.

Feb 14, 2013, 4:02 AM

With all these rules about hitting the head and stuff, they are turning football into a pillow fight. I mean I love to have safety, but please its football. Now a hard hit it almost illegal. If they keep this going, they will make the football fields out of cotton and springs.

Soory but got a computer glitch.
What I was going to say was have you ever had a concussion?
If you have you would understand why they are trying to eliminate head to head shots ,or spearing.

They are trying to get the game back to where it use to be. Launching yourself like a missile has is not old school football.
Do you think Rugby is a "soft" sport? They don't lead with the head. I imagine there are very few college or NFL defensive backs who would actually get on the field ( willing) with a pro rugby team

Football is getting reckless, is the problem

Feb 14, 2013, 8:12 AM

I have no problem with hard hits. But football players these days are obsessed with the slobberknocker hits that make the stadiums ooh and ahh. The padding and helmets have given players a feeling of invincibility and it's causing them to hurt themselves and others. Football tackling needs to get back to what it used to be, instead of recklessly hurling one's body at maximum speed at a target going equally fast in an opposite direction.
