unreal Orgeron is on it for a partial season. Only at Sou Cal would that get you noticed.

In his defense, he did put out a dumpster fire...

Nov 20, 2013, 2:14 PM

I don't know much about the guy, but based on Lane Kiffin's past experiences, I'm sure he left a complete disaster to try and handle. Ogeron understandably deserves some accolades for what he's done, and if he doesn't get at least a full-time gig out of his efforts, the real USC should be ashamed. I mean - they knocked off Stanford!

He threw his shoulder out throwing his players under the bus and is on the 30-day DL

I love Dabo and he is a fantastic coach, but i really think David Cutcliffe deserves this award. Depending on how he finishes the season.but DUKE is in the driver seat to win the costal that is insane..

Cutcliffe

Nov 20, 2013, 11:37 AM

Swinney has done an admirable job and deserves to be a finalist for coach of the year.

But, if Cutcliffe doesn't win it for getting Duke to 8-2, and potentially playing for the ACC championship, then people just aren't paying attention. Duke's success is so surprising... beating VT and Miami... giving the award to Cutcliffe is a no-brainer.

He was ACC CotY last year for taking Duke to a bowl game for the first time since 1994. This year, with wins over Wake and UNC, he could have a 10-win season. AT DUKE!

Yeah... Cutcliff or Briles. Miracle workers.***

Cutcliff moreso than Briles. Again this was DUKE

Nov 20, 2013, 2:05 PM

I'm pretty sure there are Duke students who don't even know that they have a FB team!

Malzahn has this one in the bag.

Did you see that play he called on the Georgia tip-drill?

Agreed, Duke has surprised many.

Congrats Dabo!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't know how many finalists they choose but my top 4

Nov 21, 2013, 9:52 AM

would be (in the order they appear on the list):

Malzahn
Briles
Cutcliffe
Pinkel

I know Auburn was a 3-9 dumpster fire last year, but that team actually has quite a bit of talent. It's more of a testament to how bad Chizik was and how that team just plain quit last year than anything. Malzahn has still done an incredible job, but i think he has more to work with than anyone else.

This one is going to come down to the final weeks of the season. How could you NOT vote for these guys if the following happened:

-Duke goes 10-2 and wins the ACC Coastal
-Auburn beats Bama, wins the SEC West and possibly the SECCG
-Mizzou beats A&M, wins the SEC East, and possibly the SECCG
-Baylor goes undefeated and finishes 3rd in the BCS (perhaps even 2nd and plays for the title if Bama loses)
