Just a guess but I suspect that Clemson uses a contractor to do the hauling for them. They probably do not own their own rig!!!!

Had a private rig pass me this week on 26, cab was solid orange with large paws on the doors

We rent the truck or it is or provided by another trucking company and I assume the driver is provided by a third party.

If so Clemson does not have to:

Qualify the driver
perform drug test on the driver
Be responsible for truck maintenance

This is a huge liability we dodge by not owning the truck or the driver. Again I assume the driver is supplied by another company.

If it is contracted they could have put in a little more effort and found a cab that matched the trailer. A white or a purple or a orange would be nice. Maybe they don't think its all that important.

We need to contract with Schneider National to provide the tractor rig rental. Their tractors are all a beautiful, perfect Clemson orange.

I drove with Schneider for a while, their trucks really are the perfect orange. Which was nice cause i drove with my ***hole of an uncle from Columbia...
