I wonder if the crown was lower in those days or do the people just mask it more

Best Is The Standard

I think that's looking West

Jun 25, 2013, 4:22 PM

If that is looking East (the Littlejohn comment) then where is the Hill?

Can anybody back me up on this?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Littlejohn is on the west end of the stadium.***

This view is looking west toward where the westendzone structure is now.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, that's what I thought so

Jun 25, 2013, 5:41 PM

that can't be where Littlejohn was as it states.

Am I right? I just wanna make sure I'm correct in what I'm seeing. Those structures would be back there where Jervey and all that is back toward Doug Kingsmore.

Notice the hedges in Death Valley. Someone asked about them

Jun 25, 2013, 5:33 PM

the other day. Here's your proof. Also, notice the cadets posted at the bottom of each section with their rifle. Times have changed.

I think that's the game Jerry Clower is talking about in his "The time we played Clemson"

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Not claiming the site is safe, but my computer hasn't crashed...yet. Awesome story teller!

The small building behind the stadium are student housing. They called them prefabs. Littlejohn coliseum sits on that site today.

Jun 25, 2013, 7:15 PM

I lived in one of the back prefabs in 1962 (near present parking lot to the right of Athletic offices) after just getting married and returning to Clemson after starting earlier in 1959 and going into Navy for awhile.

I wonder if that tiny tree was an oak. I remember climbing

Jun 25, 2013, 8:38 PM [ in reply to Wow...notice the tiny hedges & teeny tree on hill. I lived ]

the trees near the hill during games when I was a kid in the mid to late 70s. Seems like that would have been where they would have been before the expansions that took them out.

Look at Google Earth and you will see that Littlejohn is located where the Prefabs are shown. The cluster of Prefabs was called Vetville.
I was OD(Officer of The Day) that day and had to drive the Commandant to the game(Homecoming, I think). I had to take him back home after the military ceremony because he had recently had a heart attack. Guess that was a wise move . We may have lost him during such an exciting game! Brings back good memories.
