Thanks for posting these.. just as a point of reference, Hootie was only given 3 years and inherited a really tough situation. I personally knew both men (both of great character) and both winners. Hootie went on to take over as AD at Alabama and brought their program back from the dead.. much of who they are today were due to his rebuilding the program at AL. You could argue, lessons learned at Clemson may have helped him turn around bama. One other point.. lots of Hootie's coaches went on to be be major contributors elsewhere..

Peterson was only marginally successful at FSU...

going 6 - 3 and 7 - 4 his last two years. His one and only season at Rice was a disappointing 3 - 7

he came to DV his last year before Booby was hired and kicked our Tigers soundly though. I think that was '75 where we were supposed to be good and went 2-9 I believe

His last year at FSU was 1970.

Clemson did play FSU in 1970 but the game was in Tallahassee. FSU won 38 - 13.

FSU did travel to Clemson in 1975. That was Coach Dan Mundra's last season. FSU won the game 43 - 7

Lets correct the record here. Clemson lost to FSU in 1970 by 38-13. In 1975 they smacked us 43-7. But in 1976, we beat them in Tallahassee by 15-12.

I clicked on the first picture of Howard and went into the photo album. Anyone know what the two white-winged structures were to the right of Fike (where one of the intramural fields are now) and beside the (back then) baseball field?

Bueller? Bueller?

No old timers know what the 2 white buildings were in my link above at the corner of Williamson Rd and Old Greenville Hwy (93)?
