Well, this might be a good thing. How much did we lose

Sounds like a redistribution of bowl revenues to me.***

they should distribute post season $ by bowl quality

May 16, 2013, 8:36 PM

also, if you don't make a bowl you get no post season money. that may motivate the schools to build better programs. equal distribution doesn't motivate the school as a whole to get better since there's no penalty for sucking. sure the coaches and players are competitive, but it needs to go beyond that.

One step further, distribute TV contract money based on

ranking, and viewership. Might get ND to consider joining if they knew they didn't have to revenue shareTV contracts equally with the likes of BC, WF and Duke football programs.

No this could end up starving some teams and never allowing

them to catch up. The stronger a conference is over all the more money everyone makes. Just having 1-2 good teams (clemson and fsu) would be disastrous. I wouldn't mind scaling it so the top teams get's +20% and the bottom gets -20% but you can't make the cuts too steep.

exactly - that's the point of having a conference...***

So taking money from already cash strapped conference athletic departments will make them spend more....wow. We have equal sharing revenue but schools like Kentucky and Vanderbilt have bought into an upgrade program to benefit the SEC as a whole. The acc is being reactive and not proactive. That will be the differnce between the SEC and the acc for as long asSwofford is there. He is only reacting to the SEC and B1G moves. Follow the leader is not going to cut in this day and age....see whatthe acc needs and do it. No...he will wait and see what the SEC and B1G do and try to block it or copy it....much too late to be effective.

So, are they going to let fans buy seats that aren't in the corners and upper decks? Or will the bowls continue to pimp those out to corporate sponsors who don't give a d@mn about which teams are playing, while the team boosters are stuck in nosebleeds?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that has always bothered me----the most avid supporters get

the worst seats in the house---?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

IMO it's one of the top reasons bowls get lousy attendance

May 17, 2013, 6:57 AM

as well as THE top reason why schools get stuck eating several thousand extra tickets. I would love to go to more bowl games and I'd love to buy my tickets through Clemson, but it's tough to convince me to pay NFL-type ticket prices to sit in the upper corners. Especially when midfield seats are either empty or filled by ambivalent fans.
