because maybe he was typing on a smartphone and didn't feel like getting the ' in there. But the there and they're is completely unacceptable for a college student. That's basic grade school grammar.

This doesn't shock me at all. It is truly amazing how awful we are as a generation at written communication.
But this isn't unique to Clemson, it's all over the place in the college world. It just doesn't appear to be as high a priority anymore.
