Flying into Reno and driving

saw a few posts from people who are flying into Reno and driving to the game. If this is your plan, make sure to rent an AWD vehicle. Snow is in the forecast for the Sierra and Donner pass on I80 is no joke in the winter. The pass will close if the storm is bad enough but will likely just have chain controls unless you are driving an AWD vehicle. Putting on chains suck and if you want someone to do it for you, the chain installers charge $60.00.
Also, leave early. what's normally a 4-hour drive becomes 9-10 when it is snowing. See you all in Silicon Valley.

We are staying in Tahoe and making the drive monday morning. It sounds like we might need to cut out around day break.

Most definitely!!! If you don't, you will hit ski traffic heading back to the Bay Area.

Not going to the game, but saw some interesting fares flying into Fresno when looking for a friend.

Fresno is a good option because you will avoid Mountain passes. But don't stay there, it is the armpit of California Lol
