Flights to PHX?

Jan 3, 2016, 2:12 PM

So it seems that flying across the country at the last minute isn't a very cheap thing to do. I have looked at one ways, multiple carriers, etc., and I still can't get something less than $1200 or so if you want to come back on Tuesday. Any suggestions? Any Charters? Anybody own a Kingair that I can borrow?

that's exactly what I'm doing. I got flights for 3 people for $1100, and the rental car is about $70 for the 5 days. Hotels are about $500 for the 5 days we are going to be there. I'm working on tickets now, but I got the whole trip for the 3 of us for what it was going to cost to fly 2 of us. Plus we get to see Vegas, the Hoover ###, etc...flying from RDU leaving on Sat. and returning on Wed.

What company are you renting the car from?

I am using Budget. I booked through my holiday inn rewards and got 30% off.

Tucson isn't a bad option either. Can fly from Atlanta to there on certain days for reasonable rates, and rent a midsize car for a few bucks, two hour drive. Thats my recommendation. But you're right, last minute is getting pricey.

If you're willing to stay up all night...

Drive to Tucson after the game for a 6:50 flight to Los Angeles and then pick up a reasonably priced flight to Atlanta. I'm doing that to get back to Aiken before midnight on Tuesday.

Try skiplagged.com. They will search for cheaper flights that have layovers in your final destination city. Pretty neat.
