Florida is a total dumpster fire

May 10, 2019, 6:32 PM

In addition to Steele transferring, they had two more decommitments today, bringing the number of decommitments to eight in the last three months. Mullen is not going to be there long.

Except for Steele, I believe all those decommits are from the 2021 class.

Sux for them tho...

Any time one of the “big 6” SEC schools gets a new coach, a large segment of sports commentators declare “they’re back!” Mullen at UF is one example.

Same thing is happening at Tennessee. They were 5-7 and 2-6 in-conference and suddenly the narrative is how Jeremy Pruitt is exactly what Tennessee needed. Maybe so, but the same thing was said about Butch Jones. Perhaps the truth is that Tennessee is where they’re supposed to be, and there will be no resurgence. 20 years of irrelevance is more than a dry spell.

Ouch. I love this post

so coldly logical and ruthless.

"Perhaps the truth is that Tennessee is where they’re supposed to be"

Remember when they were arguing with us about being WRU ... and we actually cared. Not any more, their claims wouldn't fool anybody today.

“Clemson wasn’t that much better with Trevor Lawrence, if at all.”

LOL, How quickly we forget. What about 30 years? That was our “dry spell” between Danny and Dabo.

In the 80’s when Clemson was one of only four teams in the nation to win 40 games or more in four years, no one ever thought it would be 30 years before another conference championship came to Tigertown or that 3 win seasons would have to be tolerated. Be thankful for what Dabo has done with this program and enjoy every second of it but never become so arrogant as to think that it can’t all go away again.

Just saying.............

As far as Tennessee

May 11, 2019, 8:23 AM [ in reply to Re: Florida is a total dumpster fire ]

They had a nice 8 years or so under Fulmer , but CTB put an end to it in the 2004 Peach Bowl .
They've been recycled dogfood ever since .

Mullen walked into a tough sitch . Muscoot left the Gators feeling like failures ... which is tough to do when your in the same football division as Missouri , UofSuC , Tennessee , Vanderbilt and Kentucky .
The University of Georgia is the ONLY current resident of the SEC east that has a football pulse and a foot inside the relative ring .

Yep, they're desperate for more SEC teams to be relevant again, so they won't sound like such idiots when they're always hyping up the conference.

Perhaps he's cleaning house from Muschamp and McElwain with the AD's blessing?

Good thought but Mullen used McElwain's recruits to win 10 games last year. It's likely Jones, Steele and some of the recent decommits were recruited by McElwain and his staff though.

IMO the recruits and their parents are just seeing a repeat of the past with a terrible culture at UF and are bailing. The coaches have changed but nothing else.

Anyone else notice that everywhere Muschamp coaches, that the program seems to be a total dumpster fire for years? Texas is just now recovering after a couple of coaches. Florida is not as lucky. Even Auburn is struggling although he only coached there one year. Is the football world not seeing this?

Hey, I think Mullen is a heck of a coach, but at the same time, where he goes low character players seem to follow. Aaron Hernandez in Florida pt.1, several players including a woman beater at Miss St, and now Jalen Jones and others at UF. I hope he can pull it all together and manage to beat USuCk every year, but It would appear morals are not a high priority with Mullen.
