Was it just me or was there a lot of slipping out there? Looked like the ground was loose. I expected better.

They had to replace the turf. The week before our game the Bucs played a game there and the outback bowl was played there. It rained before those games so the turf was destroyed. They had no choice

the new sod? It wasn't playable. I think they had the Bucs - Panthers game there on the 1st and then the Florida - Iowa Outback Bowl the following morning. I saw some pics of the field, it was completely chewed up.

did you see the field before they resodded it. it had just had 2 bowl games and the panthers/bucs the week before. every field is resodded before big games. that grass had been growing since april.

Most of the time the National Championship is played on new turf. No Bermuda is going to grow in and hold in a week though.
