In a week, he's going to be demoted from what is, literally, the best job he's ever had or ever will have in his entire life. This is it. The pinnacle of his career. It will NEVER get any better. And a month or so after that, he'll be fired altogether.

If I got elevated to CEO tomorrow due to circumstances pretty much beyond my control (other than being a good senior-level employee), I would be delusional to take issue with the board searching for another CEO in light of the event that caused my temporary promotion in the first place.
He's playing with house money. Most assistants will never get the opportunity, which is all the less reason to feel sorry for him. He'll be able to parlay it into something else, regardless of Saturday's outocome.

My nephew is a Southern Conference referee and is somewhat well connected in college football. He has told me several times that his officiating friends speak highly of elliott and that he is a classy guy. Isn't he the coot that made that smart ### bus tweet 2 years ago during the fsu beat down?
