Faster Player: C.J. Or Sammy?

I say C.J. While Sammy is exceptionally fast, he can't go from 0-60 like C.J. can. C.J. could stop on a dime, then be back to full speed before you had a chance to even try and grab him.

CJ is the fastest player with a football under his arm that has ever played at Clemson...Jerry Butler is a very, very close second. Jacoby Ford is the fastest straight line, but loses some with the ball. jmho!

is faster than Sammy at some point. It may have been Peake, not sure. When you bring in cuts and stop and go, it's hard to say. They're all faster than me.

From point of hand off to initial line of scrimmage which means he didnt give a ####. Proved it in the nfl. Without multiple knee surgeries, ever bit as good as emmitt smith or better

I'd say CJ is no doubt quicker, but Sammy's acceleration is the same. I think they both get to top end speed around the same. They are really not too different to be honest. CJ is the Sammy version of a RB, and vice versa. CJ was one of the only track stars that I've seen that was just as fast with pads on. Jacoby Ford could fly, but seemed like the pads held him back a tad. Sammy seems like a straight up football player that can fly.

Spiller is faster but Watkins has better acceleration.

Sammy's acceleration is unbelievable. I've not seen anyone who can match him in that regard.

CJ was fast and quick. CJ had faster latteral movement and was able to make 2 or 3 guys miss and then go. Sammy is just fast. Most of his long runs are one cut and go. A lot of this had to do with the different dynamics of the positions they play. Running back getting the ball in the backfield for the most part vs. receiver getting ball in open field. My vote would be for CJ.

There is pure speed ... and speed holding the football.
Pure speed(Track): 1) Jacoby Ford 2) CJ Spiller
Football Speed: 1) CJ Spiller 2) Justin Miller 3) Sammy Watkins 4) Kenny Flowers 5) Jerry Butler 6) Jacoby Ford

Sammy goes from 0-60 in no time and has better vision than any college football player I've ever seen.
When he gets the ball, he knows exactly where to go with it and what angle to take. His first play from scrimmage (Troy) and the slant-hook on the first drive of the second half against Auburn stand out.
Spiller is faster per se, but when it comes to functional football play, Sammy is just as difficult to catch because he quickly eliminates the window of opportunity by spacing himself strategically between all viable tacklers.
