Concert Review: St Paul and the Broken Bones...

Mar 15, 2017, 7:07 PM

at The Ritz Raleigh, took the entire family.

Energy: A+
Emotion: A+
Song Set: A+
Opening Act: B-
Venue: A+ from the mezzanine, the floor looked ridiculously packed
Acrobatics: A+ Paul took a dive off the speaker stack, never missed a beat.

Do recommend strongly.

Next family outing Sturgill Simpson at Koka Booth.

Re: Forgot some venue info for future reference....

Beer selection: C-
Bar access: C- due to large crowd

We were premium seating, so waitress.

A couple of local beers, Lone Rider and maybe one other I can't remember.
There's too many great local craft breweries in Raleigh to be that weak,
should have had some Hell Yes Ma'am or Hidden Pipe.
(shameless plug for Raleigh Brewing Co. where my son is a brewer)

When I think of the RDU area ...............

Tyler's Taproom comes to my mind. Always great beer selection and the food is pretty darn good also.

Haven't checked out the new tenants yet. Tyler's was pretty good, I agree on the
beer selection. There's a beer garden place downtown that has a lot more,
but the atmosphere can be vary.

My kids are 25 and 28. We all love music, good way to get the family together.
I foot the bill and we all have a good time and they get to go to events for free.

we have been seeing shows as a family

Mar 16, 2017, 8:15 AM

my kid started going to shows with us cuz we raised him right to love good music. He only gets a little embarrassed when his parents are dancing down the aisles.

Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

Saw them in 2015 in Charlotte when the band had just started

gaining traction. Fantastic show, and afterwards as we were finishing up drinks and letting the crowd thin out, Paul is just wandering around out on the floor so we chatted with him for a good thirty minutes. Mrs. Tig got him to sign a t-shirt. The guy is one of the most unassuming and genuine people you'll ever meet. But it still gives me pause to hear that voice coming out of that guy.
