Georgia Tech also has a rough one. GT is kind of screwed for the foreseeable future as they play Clemson and Georgia every year, plus they have Miami and Virginia Tech in their division. They also play @ USF and @ Louisville this year, although I don't expect either to be quite as good as they were a year ago.

It’s way tougher than an SEC east schedule

Oh, haven't you heard? Now Jimbo has to coach against the mighty SEC, obviously way more difficult than anything the ACC has to offer

It's not crazy tough but it'll be difficult for a first year coach.
VT - 50/50 in my opinion. Let's say they lose. 0-1 to start. Samford - W 1-1 @Cuse - Should be a W. 2-1 Northern Illinois - Watch out for a sneaky game here but FSU wins 3-1 @ Lville - Should be a W. Louisville was just pure bad last year outside of Lamar Jackson. It'll show this year but Louisville likes to show up for FSU. 4-1 FSU wins @ Duh U - This is where FSU's schedule starts getting daunting. It's a huge rivalry and I expect it to be a 50/50 game but Noles lose. 4-2 WF - I like what Clawson is doing with them. They almost beat FSU last year and outplayed them. But FSU wins here in a close one 5-2. Clemson - L but FSU likes to compete with us. 5-3 @NC State - 50/50 here. I think the Carter Finley curse strikes FSU here. 5-4 @ND - L but it'll be a good game. 5-5 BC - another sneaky good team but FSU is tired of losing after a 3 game skid. W 6-5 Florida - Gators will be improved but I think the Noles take it again. 7-5
FSU goes to some crap bowl against some easy team and wins. 8-5 to finish.
Their opponents aren't the most dangerous outside of our Tigers and maybe Miami but it schedules out to be rough week after week and they have to stay focused to win. This isn't my final prediction for them because I want to see all these teams play first besides going off expectations.

Syracuse may beat them.
Cuse tended to go as QB Eric Dungey went...without Dungey they were thoroughly mortal, with Dungey they were dangerous...to anybody, as we found out.
Hearing good things about Willie Taggart's personality and recruiting...but he doesn't have the talent some prior coaches had (he'll probably fix that pretty soon), but I'm also hearing his defensive staff is kind of questionable and his playcalling is also kind of just-allright.
Most folks close to the situation think it'll be a fairly trying Year 1, and will turn around when Taggart finally finds a QB - those close to the team are extremely lukewarm on all his QB's, including Francois - and tightens up his defensive staff. Also am hearing the loss of Mario Cristobal (who stayed as the HC at Oregon) was huge for him, both in terms of recruiting and his OL development, as bad (or worse) than losing Venables would be for Dabo.

From the little bit I saw of Oregon last season when Herbert was healthy they looked alright, but when he wasn't they looked awful and Taggart had this weird checked-out/blase demeanor on the sideline.

If they make it to Miami without losing they will be ready for the tough end. VT will be a tough start for a new coach. Do not forget that they have a ton of talent. More than everyone but Clemson and MAYBE Miami.
