the popular things when all of us were growing up, but this is just simply dumb on another level. I can't dance, nor have I ever attempted to become a good dancer. However I've always thought dancing was meant to be "expressive of the individual" who's dancing. If everyone is doing the same thing, much less being told what to do and when to do it by the song, doesn't it cease to be dancing? I'm not even 40 yet (insert Mike Gundy joke and mullet) but this is just awful IMO.

What about line dancing? There is no right or wrong when dancing. Even those that "can't dance" as long as they're having fun nobody should actually care. I can't do any of that but my opinion of it is not that serious. Dancing is not that serious.

My point wasn't that dancing is "serious". Only that being told what to do while dancing seems to negate the entire purpose of dancing in my admittedly limited knowledge of the subject.
Like I said, I'm certainly no expert on dance, so dance to your hearts content partner. It's not bothering me if that's what someone wants to do for fun.
I honestly don't care if it's line dancing or your "dance quintet, you know, your cycle", but it just seems like every month there's a new (whatever kind of music this is called) song that literally tells you how and when to do what to "correctly" dance to the song. That just seemed to take away the entire point of dancing if there's as you said, "no right or wrong" in dancing. If that's the case (and it seems to be), then in essence we're making the same point. However, as stated, I know nothing about dancing.
Was just posting MY opinion, nothing more or less. Dancing isn't serious, but MY OPINION is that this kind of "dancing" is a really awful fad. That's all bud.
On to something that is serious.......GO TIGERS!!!!
